An exhibition in collaboration with AVS Alpenverein Südtirol.

Photographic lantern slides were an early form of visual representation.
The Alpine Club’s collection of lantern slides was curated between 1898 and 1940 for the purposes of Alpine tourism.
Presentations with photographic slide shows were delivered to showcase the beauty of the Alps to the members of the club.
This 2024/2025 special exhibition presents selected Alpine lantern slides about mountaineering in the Dolomites.

Photographer Gustav Willeit responds to this historical material with his own contemporary work.
